Howdy Superman?

And here I was just telling my mother a couple of days ago that I hope no family with the surname "Bond", would ever name their kid "James"... Boy, I didn't even know how crazy some parents can be! :)

Pat and Sheena Wheaton from New Zealand, were fighting with the government of NZ because they wanted to name their son "4Real"!!....... 4Real!! Just imagine having a name like "4Real"!!! I mean, I am speechless... And they wanted this name apparently because they couldn't believe their son was "for real"!!! *Urrrrrrrrgh*....

But the good news is that they lost the battle! *phew*... The policy is that you have to have a sequence of letters for names in New Zealand! :-... Ok well, something saved the poor baby from being called "4Real", we have to be thankful about it, but guess what they named him then? SUPERMAN!!! :) (don't you feel like banging your head on a wall?)

Yup, if you dont believe me, just check the net. This is "4Real"!! :))

I think the Indian government will have a problem with the 'Superman' name for sure! Because they believe that "Superman is Indian! He runs faster than a speeding train… there’s only one country you can run faster than the train!" :)))Being someone who has a lot of experience with the train services here in Sri Lanka, I dunno if thats '4Real'!

I share your sentiments comp-leee-tely! :) What are these people thinking if in fact they are thinking? Maybe they see it as a way for their baby to stay in the news and think that later on in life he'll thank them for it? :)

Thank God for the constitution! I mean it takes great foresight to predict this brand of eccentric naming could crop up.

I mean even though it was hard to stomach 'Apple' as the name for Chris Martin and Gywn's baby atleast it's cute or so i think. :) And you remember that Seinfeld epi where George tells Susan's cousin whose expecting that he thinks they can name their kid 'Soda' while reserving the name 'Seven' for his? Even so i think those are a tad better than Superman or 4Real. And dunno if you ran into this while on the net checking out this Superman story but apparently some celebs have named their kid Pilot Inspecktor and Audio Science. Some People! Or are they?? :)

Hehee :) I like the Indian Train joke :)) It took me a couple of minutes to understand it, but, I got it finally! :))

To Fafa, yeah I think that's what they want, for their son to be always on the news! That's so pathetic isnt it? Didn't they think of how he will be bugged for the rest of his life?? I guess he can always change his name though :)

I totally agree with you, even I thought naming a girl "Apple" is quite cute... Its a cute name! :) Unfortunately I don't remember the Seinfeld episode you mention and no I didnt see celebs naming their children "Audio Science" and etc, I mean that's like either lack of imagination or pure bad taste! :(

There is this funny story, actually the guy is a character from the book "Catch-22"... The family surname is "Major". So as a joke, the father decides to name the child "Major Major"... So his fullname is : Major Major Major. The poor kid!! And when he finally joins the army, they make him a Major. So in the end, he is addressed as Major Major Major Major!! :))

"My name is Alice, but"

"It's a stupid name enough!" Humpty Dumpty interrupted impatiently. "What does it mean?"

"MUST a name mean something?" Alice asked doubtfully.

"Of course it must," Humpty Dumpty said with a short laugh.
